Intelligent Lon Fibre Router

The router implements the full set of LonWorks® EIA/ANSI 709 router functions: Configured, Learning, Bridge or Repeater. It connects LonWorks twisted pair copper networks to LonWorks Fibre optic networks, or extends twisted pair networks over long distances or through harsh environments. The Fibre router can be used to create links and back-bones that connect copper LonWorks subsystems. This Fibre router implements the open standard LonTalk® EIA- 709 communications protocol. They are simple to install out of the box being fully compatible with all LNS based network management tools.

LonWorks Physical Layer Repeater

LonWorks Physical Layer Repeater Two & Three Channel - This is the latest generation of two and three channels devices which are used when you need to exceed the recommended maximum length of a wire. The repeater receives packets in one side and echoes them out of the other. This allows users to double the length of the wire as well as increasing the number of transceivers that can be placed onto the channel. By daisy chaining repeaters networks can be further extended.

The repeater does not give an increase in bandwidth as all packets are repeated on both sides, nor does it allow routing or filtering to be done. For this, you will need a router - for further information see CNS LonWorks® Intelligent DIN Router datasheet.

Lon TerminatorIII

As part of CNS's Lon Network Infrastructure Product Family (LNIPs) this product compliments our Compact LonRouter, LonRepeater family as well as our eNode™IV Lon/IP852 Routing products and LonFibre products. Termination is required on all cable networks in order to cancel out ghosts and reflections, which occur when signals are transmitted onto the cable. Without termination, the signal can be degraded beyond the ability of receivers to pick up and decode the signal. The degradation of signals is affected by the topology of the cable system i.e. how it is wired together.

Lon Network Interface Products -

LonWorks Serial Gateway

The Serial Gateway provides a serial interface between RS-232 or RS-485 and LONWORKS networks offering data transfer rates of up to 115.2 kbps. The Neuron chip maps the interface to the LON side.

Intelligent LonFibre Transceiver

Fibre optic interconnection is ideal for applications needing high throughput, expandability, immunity to electromagnetic interference or communications over long distances.

Maximum LonWorks® communication throughput is maintained on the fibre optic interconnect regardless of the distance or number of nodes attached. A fibre optic ring can implement multiple subnets with several hundred fibre optic nodes (the allowable number of nodes is a function of average link length and the fibre optic cable characteristics; 750 to 3,000 node capacity is typical). These capabilities make the next generation SMX transceiver ideal solutions for large projects with substantial message traffic as well as small projects to connect as few as two nodes together.
